The steps to action are  the same for each bill. You just write a letter or make a call and educate your legislator about the bill you are interested in.

 The education process is the same whether you  agree with the bill or not. If you think the bill is a good idea, educate your legislators as to why . If you feel the bill is not a good idea educate them as

to why .

HR 1593 Second Chance Act of 2007

To reauthorize the grant program for reentry of offenders into the community in the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, to improve reentry planning and implementation, and for other purposes.

To change the name of the National Institute on Drug Abuse to the National Institute on Diseases of Addiction and to change the name of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to the National Institute on Alcohol Disorders and Health.

BUDGET

The budget is top priority.  Deep funding cuts this year will result in many drug and alcohol services being drastically affected or eliminated.  We must begin   educating our legislators about the need of treatment and prevention funding
